All the animals I have killed have been with 125 grain Magnus stinger 2 blades . I like them and they fly well out of my set up BUT I am starting to shoot broadheads more often and plan to eventually just shoot broadheads and the stingers arent that tough (I have bent several ) . I have used the Magnus warranty and its great BUT I would rather use broadheads that are real tough and I can just touch em up to go hunt. The VPA penetrator seems attractive since I prefer 2 blades (believing 2 blades penetrate deeper)and with my current setup am producing 47-48 kinetic energy. What are you guys opinions on the VPA penetrators ? If using the terminators are you getting good penetration with similar kinetic on deer and elk ? Thanks

I haven't used the two bladed VPA , I have used the the three bladed VPA in 100, 125 , and 150 grains. Both vented and solids. While I can't speak the performance of the two blade I can give some inside to the quality and durability and performance of the ones I have used.
They are tough durable head, that is easy to regain an edge on and touch up as needed. On game they have performed very well, held up great, typical blood trails for that style of head. I have nothing but good things to say about them. The three bladed heads I sharpen on a flat stone, however if you go two bladed you can use a work sharp ....also Ray at VPA is good guy to deal with. He has always been helpful and responsive.

Nearly everybody here in Australia use VPA's and they are tough as. shoot a pig, touch it up with a steel and put it back in your quiver, ready to go again. There is a good video of a guy shooting a Zelor Arrow with a VPA on the front into a concrete bloke from 10 meters and it spins perfectly afterwards.

I've used the 100gr 3-blade non vented
They are tough but just like any resharpenable broad head not fun to get nicks out of.

My only complaint is you better know how to sharpen them when you get them because they don't come real sharp to begin with.

I just read my original post and wanted to be clear for the record that the "all the animals I have killed" was referring to archery tackle. In today's day and age I dont want to me miss quoted 40 years down the road or something. Anyway.... I appreciate the feedback guys. Seems that there isnt much info on the penetrators. ALOT of positive reviews of the terminators out there. The best way to know is just try some out so I'm gonna order some 125 gr penetrators and give em a whirl.

this spring I picked up 2 fresh cow shoulder blades from my local butcher and tested both heads. The 2 blade out penetrated the 3 blade by 2 to 1. I had one vented 3 blade break so if you go that route, stick with the solids. I tested a bunch of heads and the penetrator was one of the best.

I ended up buying some 125 grain 3 blades from the custom shop from Ray. I was about to buy some 2 blades but then found the custom shop 125 grain heads based on the 150 and had to try em. Shot them out to 50 meters with around 4 inch grouping ( which is good for me at 50 meters) . I like em . They make some noise but about the same as the Magnus stingers I'm used to. Penetration testing isnt happening as my foam target is like swiss cheese . I'll budget in some 2 blades and test em out as well hopefully on a new target.

VPA 2&3 blades are all I shoot. I have both the old and new wider cut series from Ray. I shoot the 175's and love them. I've gotten pass throughs with my 47 pound bow on mule deer and hogs. I purposely shot a bigger hog in the shoulder with my 55 pound bow and 2 blade penetrator buried it to the fletchings. She stood there for a few seconds squealed pouring blood like a faucet and then trotted off 14 yards and was down in sight. Absolutely love the VPAs.
