I get that they're cheap bows and that there are better options.

Wife wants a bow, or THINKS she wants a bow.

Been playing with a couple compounds but she seems to want to shoot fingers which, as I understand, is a no-no with most compounds due to string angle and some other factors. She's also struggling with the draw weight and these less expensive bows don't have the smoothest draw cycle.

So my thought is, grab her a Samick and maybe 25# limbs and, if she hates it, I'll put a little heavier limbs on it and play with it.

It'll never hunt and, at most will do a 3D or two a year plus some backyard flinging.

That was one of my first recurve bows. Had 40s and then jumped up to 50s and hunted that bow for a few years. Shot a 575 grain arrow at 185 gps average. I now shoot a nicer ILF bow with the same arrows and 50 pound limbs at around 182-183 fps. I would not hesitate to pick up a sage. Great beginner bow. Another good beginner budget bow is an ILF Tbow it’s basically a Hoyt satori copy. I have one of those as well. Great bow for $180-$200 range.

Absolutely. That’s what I shot when I was hunting with a recurve for a while. I’d get 20lb limbs if you can.

I have three of them. I think they are a good choice if your draw length is 29 inches or less. If you think your draw length will be longer than 29 inches I would go with a 64 inch bow.

I just got one with 25# limbs for my daughter, its so much damn fun to shoot.
One of these years I may put the time in to try to kill a doe with it,, with some 40# limbs
