Yesterday at the Iowa capital, amendments were passed around to HF 2657 that would allocate HALF of the NR Buck tags in the drawing, to a special drawing only for Non-Residents who:
1. Filed an filed an income tax return in Iowa
OR
2. Own 160 acres or more of contiguous land.

Any NR that has enjoyed or enjoys hunting whitetails in Iowa should take notice and contact the following folks to voice your opposition.

This was always going to happen when the party hunting regulation was quietly "re-interpreted" to only cover residents. I said this at the time, be careful what you wish for.

The Iowa DNR for 20 years pumped up the resource to non-residents and encouraged them to buy farms with the governor's tag/celebrity program. That toothpaste isn't going back in the tube, there's too much money involved now.

And that's not even counting every Tom, Dick and Harry that have moved to Iowa to buy land, or moved to try to break into the whitetail hunting industry.
