Vortex Viper HST 6x24x50

Any advice on this scope? Looking to put on a 7mm magnum for upcoming mule deer hunt.

It's a decent scope. But, I really wouldn't trust a Vortex on a big hunt, personally.

They have great customer service, but there is a reason their warranty is no hassle, because it gets used alot by many people.

Having your scope fail is a surefire way to ruin a hunt.

I run lots of vortex optics, in fact the vast majority of my kit consists of stuff from vortex. My chest binos, 15's, rangefinder, spotter, and backpacking tripod are all from Vortex. My wife runs a pair of their binos, my dad uses all their stuff, my hunting partner uses their stuff, so do my brothers. We use TONS of their stuff.

I will NEVER run their scopes, until they come out with a scope that'll pass these tests.

I've had some of their scopes in the past and they have failed for me, same with Leupold as well.

From now on, my rifles will wear SWFA, Nightforce, or Trijicon.

Read through those tests, it may be eye opening for you.

But hey, I'm just some random guy on the internet...
