Vortex Viper HS-T 4-16 X 44/ VMR-1 Reticle Field Test

Sam,

Great Shooting!

I just picked up the same scope in MOA and ended up sending it back because at 16x the scope had a very strong haze/washout that caused everything to turn very white. The parallax adjustment did not make a difference. Have you noticed any problems with this on these scopes? I believe it was a isolated problem with this one scope.

Thanks

Gibson

Nice shooting guys I just picked up a 6.5x20x44 mildot reticle vortex for my 300 win mag haven't had a chance to stretch it out that far yet but shoots 5/8 groups at 200 yds so should do good longer.

I have not had any problems with this scope. It is quite clear and bright for a ~$500 scope...

I have a buddy that is looking at one of the Savage LR models. What is your honust take on these platforms, and what did you do to that rifle. Blueprint the action, lap the locking lugs, bed it?

That rifle is stock except for bedding the front lug, which is something I do to all my rifles. It comes with the HS Precision stock, target Accutrigger, and Model 12 target action. The long range hunter comes on a different action and Savage's own Accustock.

It's a great shooter and consistently shoots 5 shots into .5-.75 MOA. I'm sure if I spent some more time with it, I could tune the load under .5". Savage rifles aren't as sexy as Tikkas or Remingtons, but the few I have in the safe have all shot well and are relatively inexpensive. They are easy to swap barrels on and off if you are so inclined to.
