I know there have been a couple threads, but maybe some more people have had experience with the vortex viper hd spotter. Looking to get the Viper HD in 65mm. any experience with this scope? pro's, con's....basically trying to talk myself into it..haha..thanks all!

I have a straight, neck strain while sheep grassing makes me really want angled.
These are great scopes for all but the worse light conditions: pre sunrise, fire smoke at sunset, etc.

If you did it again, would you get the same scope just in the angled model? or would you upgrade to the Razor? Thank you for your input!

i have a straight model. pretty decent. i use my for looking for game as well as getting a closer look. i can peek behind it for hours.

on the lowest power, there are no complaints. none. super clear, bright, and the edge to edge is darn near perfect. things tend to derail as you zoom. it darkens noticably..and it gets a tad less clear. now i know this happens to ALL spotters, and this is the first i have owned..but my buddies high end one does it less.

it is pretty good..and my money went to my binoculars. as i use my spotter more and more..i might upgrade.

My next scope will be a razor, or a Swarovski on sale, and Angled.
However, the viper covers all my needs at this time.
