Vortex Venom 3-15x44

I am thinking of picking up a Vortex Venom 3-15x44 for an AR10 build in 6.5 Creedmoor. What are everyone’s thoughts on these? I don’t have any Vortex scopes. Midway has them on sale for $ 400. Thanks

Outside of the Razor line, I wouldn’t bother with Vortex, unless you baby your gear or like sending it in for repair. There’s a reason everyone knows how great their warranty is.

It'll cost you a bit more, but I'd look at the Strike Eagle over the Venom. You'll gain an illuminated reticle, a bit more top end magnification and better glass with the SE.

The vortex warranty is excellent and I've owned and trusted many of their offerings. A responsive and helpful warranty department is not a sign of a bad product.

I had one. It was a nice viewing device. It's also the only optic I've had to send back for warranty, and it only went to the range twice on one of my AR-10s.

Viewing device, nice glass.

Aiming device not so much.
