Vortex strike eagle 3-18x44 ffp vs vortex lht 3-15x50

Looking at these 2 scopes for a savage 110 ultralite 6.5 creedmoor. Wonder if the weight difference of 6 oz and the upgraded glass is worth the 400 price difference ? Will be hunting Georgia deer and hogs mostly short range but do have some open fields and power lines.

I’ve seen too many issues with strike eagles to honestly recommend them. Just in October our buddy was using his new 3-18 on an antelope hunt sitting on his 6arc. He missed some pretty easy shots (several in a row) that I know he was capable of making.

We went back to the range we have out on the ranch to check. When he went above 12x his zero shifted 3 mils. Back down below it, it was still dead on.

I mean yeah vortex will fix it or replace it but I’d steer clear of their lowest level.

Curious why not go with a trijicon, Swfa, maven etc. of similar pricing?

You’re paying for significantly better Japanese build quality too and I’d buy the LHT for that alone. Chinese scopes are trash.

If buying both new, I’d look at a credo or tenmile and skip the vortex

I have both, and I would suggest the LHT or take a look at the credos!
