I’m going to get a couple Vortex red dots for range guns. Vortex seems perfect for this since there is a lifetime warranty and 50% off. I don’t need them to be 100% reliable. If it poops the bed I’m not worried if it’s gone for a month. I would like the optic to have decently clear glass. If I can get away with a mid tier sight that’s fine. If I need to get say the Razor red dot to have a decent optic that’s fine. If anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate it for these. 1 .22 pistol, 1 .22 AR.

I need 1 for a SW M&P 15-22. I think the rimfire range is 25 yards and 40 yards to the plates.

The other is a Taurus TX-22 pistol.

Regards, Branden

I have the vortex venom on my glock 20, its a decent site but nothing fancy. I prefer the holosun on a smaller pistol. Glass is plenty clear on the venom for a range gun, and its a side or top load battery, so you can change without taking the site off like a few other vortex red dots. If you dont have a full size pistol the vortex edge would be a better option, but I have no experience with that, I'd highly recommend the holosun 407k though.

I almost bought that Defender ccw sight the other day because it comes with a pic mount and fits my hellcat. I ended up with an Aimpoint PRO thinking the kid can have it in his 10/22 and then put it in a carbine down the road.

The other Vortex I was considering was the Sparc2 Midway has for $99 because it comes with a few mount heights.

I liked the venom over the razor due to the accessibility of the buttons (had both). Neither lost zero on a AR, CZ SPO1 tactical, Ruger IV, or 30-30.

I have the vortex defender ccw for glock 19. My slide is off at the gunsmith getting cut. I’ll give you feedback when I get it back however I shot a class with it when I went to vortex factory. I shot 300-400 rounds though a pistol with one and I really liked it.
