Just ordered one if these. Now it's time to fund it. I've got a PERFECT Nikon ED50A. PM me with offers. All offers will be considered. Thanks

I wish I was brave enough to order one!

:) if they are backordered till may your CC won't get charged until they SHIP it. You have 2 months to break the news to her or come up with a good excuse.

**edited** almost positive I recieved an email saying my CC won't be charged until it is shipped.

Couldn't resist, just placed my order. $1098.99, no tax and free shipping.
This will compliment my Razor 50 mm perfectly.

Is the 85mm any better than the 65mm? At top power 48x, the 65mm was very grainy. I can't imagine how grainy it would have been at 60x.

Grainy?

Interesting description. I used a 65mm for a few weeks when it was new to the market, and found it sharp right up to 48x. Like most spotters, the view was a bit dimmer and had less contrast at the max setting, but the detail was there.

I found it to be a pretty nice 65mm spotter.

As far as the 85mm, this bull was 1600 yards away and the view to the eye was much sharper than the digiscoped footage, which was still pretty good, IMO:

Nice bull. Did you have the camera zoom up as well? That bull is awfully close for 1600 yards, even on 60x.

The bull fills the frame because the camera's lens' FOV takes only a portion of the eyepieces FOV. The camera was a Sony WX-1 with (35mm equivalent) focal lengths of 24-120mm.

The bull filled much less of the FOV in the eyepiece with the naked eye.

I ordered one as well. Missed the $100 extra off but got the additional $50. Mine is also showing back ordered but with an estimated shipment date of 1-7 days. I'm just hoping I don't get a phone call or email saying "oops--price error and we can't honor it."

I called yesterday after I placed my order and they told me early May (mine also says 1-7 days online). I asked about the price and she said it would 100% be honored, so no worries there. Just need to wait a few months, but at that price, I don't mind one bit!
