I was on a once in a lifetime elk hunt this year when a burst of wind kicked up and knocked over my tripod with the spotter. Spotter rolled across the ground with the foot broken off. Turned out. There is only a tiny thin bit of impact plastic holding this optic to the foot…

In a way it definitely may have. I had been carrying it connected to the tripod in my pack. Ready to go because I was looking at every bull through it. The compact size, image quality, and weight made it excellent for quickly judging bulls. I ended up shooting a bull a lot smaller than I wanted after my spotter told me it was a shooter. I MAY have pulled out my own spotter to have a look if it wasn’t broken. Maybe stopping me from taking that smaller bull? Who knows but yeah the new one is on the way but wish they had securely attached the foot in their design.

That was my takeaway too! Good impact resistant super glue is a must. lol, we tried paracord and tape but that didn’t get us anywhere.

Works great for small cut/wound closure too. For plastic repairs I like to sprinkle some baking soda over the super glue. I broke my only pair of glasses and tried super glue alone and it wouldn't hold. Tried again and added a dusting of baking soda over the glue and they are still holding after a year.
