Just wondering if anyone has experience with both these rangefinders or any opinions. Looking to shoot 338 lapua eventually out to 2000. I’m at 1000 now. I’m in Florida.

Thanks

I have a ranger 1500. It rarely reads above 800 so I would expect the 1800 wouldn't reliability read above 1k. Definitely would not recommend vortex if your goal is to shoot out to 2k.

FIL has a SIG (not sure which model, maybe 2200) and he's not happy with it.

I was impressed with the leupold 2800 I had for a few months but ultimately ended up with them Leica 2400. Repeatably get readings over 2k.

Biggest advantage of vortex RF’s is the warranty. Not sure on the other companies but I think vortex is one of the few with a lifetime on electronics. My 1500 reads reliably at 800 but not much past.

Kinda all over
I’ve used both and can say the performance of the Vortex lacks a lot of be desired. Oftentimes the Ranger will not read on certain color backgrounds, other times will not read at all. I was using the 1800 two days ago setting targets in the backyard…it wouldn’t read at all then just started working again. I’ve also gotten up to +/- 7 yard differences under 100 yards. The Sig seems to read on most every type of background and I can get a little longer distance with it if I’m rifle hunting.
