Vortex rangefinder

Had one. Had a warranty issue. They had a replacement to me within a week and before they received the old one. I have since upgraded to a different brand (and more expensive rangefinder) but vortex is awesome gear for their price points and is rock solid when it comes to customer service and standing behind their stuff.

I bought the 1300 Dec. 2018. It was discontinued shortly there after. just my luck. For that matter, bought the Razor HD binos towards the first of the year and shortly thereafter, they came out with the UHD. (how my luck runs).

back to the rangefinders... Should it be normal for them to come up with a "blank" when you try to range something (ok maybe it was too far or not reflective enough) but then won't range anything. Even a huge tree at 40 yards. If I let it turn off and try again, it will eventually work again. But may have to do that several times.

I could see this being a problem when trying to range a hunting situation.

The vortex warranty is the entire reason I recently purchased the Ranger 1800. I spend multiple days at Cabelas/Sportsmans trying out different ones. Loved the Nikon stabilized but warranty wasn't lifetime. Leupold felt the better on the eyes than the Vortex, but not enough to make me forget about the difference in warranties.

I recently had a bad experience with the Razor 4000. Every unit I tried died on me. Good thing Vortex stood behind it. After the second one quit I bought a Leica. At least I can count on it working when I need it.

I have never had any kind of issue with vortex replacing anything. Great customer service 👍

The only thing I own Vortex is a Ranger 1000 range finder. I bow And gun hunt Whitetails and it has been great out to 350+ yds here in Mississippi. I hunted Utah Elk a few years ago and was able to range Elk to 750. Happy with mine.
