I'm looking at these two sets of Bino's for my upcoming mule deer hunt in Montana. I believe I will rent, or borrow a spotting scope to make sure I get the best possible. However, on the bino's this is something I'll have for hunting back east as well.

I'm looking for opinions on the Vortex Optics Viper HD 10x50 Roof Prism Binocular vs. Leupold Mojave Roof Prism Binoculars. The Leupold can be had for $360 on Amazon, and the Viper is more like $650. Should I set my sights on either of these, or look at something else? Any opinions and thoughts are appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

If I were you I'd give elknut a call and see what he can get you set up on the viper hd's. I bought my set two years ago from a dealer that gave me a good deal much less than msrp. I really like my viper hds but I wish I would have spent a little more and went for the razor. However the viper hd set I have are great and very clear. With the clarity and the vip warranty I would go for vortex. I am biased though I have moved all of my optics to vortex. I have a few razor scopes razor spotter and the viper hd binoculars and would buy them all again

Thanks MK_v! I really wish I could get some time behind both sets so I could make a decision

In that price range I'd also look at the monarch 7s, and see if you could track down a pair of used non HD euros (meopta meostars)

I've owned both of those. The Leupold's aren't even close to the Vortex. I've been running the Vortex now for 2 years and I haven't been disappointed in them yet.
