I understand these about as much as I understand women, but figured there were some Rokslide gun gurus out there who might want to see this. Enlighten me!

Here's the press release:

Vortex[SUP]®[/SUP] Optics’ Razor[SUP]®[/SUP] AMG[SUP]™[/SUP] UH-1[SUP]™[/SUP]
Redefines the Holographic Weapon Sight

The Razor[SUP]®[/SUP] AMG[SUP]™[/SUP] UH-1[SUP]™[/SUP] represents a new paradigm in holographic weapon sight technology. Uses Vortex[SUP]®[/SUP] Optics’ revolutionary Fusion Hologram with Quantum Well Light Control (FHQ[SUP]™[/SUP]) technology. The result—the first holographic sight to marry the durability, reliability, and energy efficiency of a red dot, with the impressive sight picture, zero-distortion, and comprehensive reticle pattern of a holographic sight.

FHQ[SUP]™[/SUP] technology virtually eliminates stray light emissions for stealth-shooter-signature in low light, prevents eye-piece glare, as well as increases energy efficiency for impressive battery life. The single-fused holographic element is completely inert, has no moving parts and delivers unmatched images, reticle sharpness, definition, and clarity. Absolute zero distortion and an impressive sight picture with unobstructed view ensure rapid, instinctual, target acquisition. The purpose-built dynamic-targeting EBR-CQB reticle is clean, yet highly versatile, for optimal target engagement in a wide range of scenarios. All sensitive components are protected in the base of the sight, substantially increasing durability, while eliminating the need for an obstructive secondary shroud.

Precise windage and elevation adjustments track reliably and accurately. The UH-1 boasts premium, hard-anodized aerospace aluminum and stainless steel construction for lasting durability in the harshest environments. Integrated weaver/picatinny-style quick release mount attaches and detaches with ease. Utilitarian, snag-free ultra-sleek design promotes fluid movement through interior structures and exterior environments. Runs on a Micro USB rechargeable LFP 123A battery or CR123A battery.

Shatterproof, XR-plus fully multi-coated windows and holographic elements are incredibly durable and promote optimal light transmission. ArmorTek coating protects exterior lenses. Waterproof and Argon purged for reliability in wet, high-humidity conditions.

Covered by Vortex’s legendary VIP warranty, the Razor AMG UH-1 sets the standard by which dynamic combat sights will be measured.

MSRP: $699.99

Thanks for posting, looks nice. Cant stand it when manufacturers dont post expected battery life though. Aimpoint is good for 50,000 hours and that was years ago. This looks like it could be a step up or at least a competitor to aimpoint but no one will know until real world testing regarding battery life. In a life saving situation one needs to know that it will work all the time every time and the biggest failure with these types of sights are batteries (mainly due to people not turning them off when storing).

Gelton, I'll reach out to Mark at Vortex next week and see what he knows

Looks nice. I might need one sum day. If these pan out.. And it doesn't hurt to have a little competition. To drive down prices. But for me. My aim point pro. Wont be come in off the ar. Ant time soon. For one of the reason stated above...

I'm always interested in seeing new stuff. Having used Aimpoints, EOTechs and ACOGs for years I'd like to see how these compare in both durability and battery life. The reticle looks good, I'm hoping on an M4 platform the dot would be your ~50 and the tip of the triangle 300 with standard 5.56?

Also, I'd like to see how the built in QD mount works and if it's removable.

I'm anxious to check one out. I have a stigmatism that is giving me issues with the Aimpoint dot. I'd like to see how this reticle looks to my eye.

OK boys, I heard from the man himself, Mark Boardman at Vortex. Here is the expected battery life:

"Expected Average battery life is 1500 hours on intensity level 8 with eh CR 123 A Battery and 600 Hours with the rechargeable LFP 123 A."
