I agree. With the release of the new binocular in really hoping something comes up. Im really torn just because I really want one either with or without ballistics. It would really be awesome if they just made the new one with ballistics as well. The new ones are already selling out everywhere. The ranger i think it's called. Im not sure how long I want to wait.
I got word there are items in the works. The eta is 9 months-1 year. So now I just need to make up my mind and either get the new Ranger binos or the 4k with Geo ballistics. Im leaning towards the Ranger since I have geo ballistics already as an app. I really am not an active hunter so I think I'll be ok with it. Typically guides have the ballistic rangefinders/equipment needed. I think my mind is made up. Maybe ill upgrade when they are released.
I'm not sure what level of optics you are used to. The ranger is much more akin to the diamondback-viper line from a glass standpoint. I've never looked through fury's but I believe they are better than this. There's not a ton of information of the glass quality of the ranger yet, they're selling for much lower than MSRP
Everything sells lower than MSRP most of the time. The Fury AB on vortex website or 2200 or 2300 but typically find them around 1500. The ranger is 1199 on their website and are around 800. Some places are cheaper. I dont think its anything to worry about. For the price point and the price I can get them, I think they are worth a shot and some of the reviews ive seen have been positive. If I dont like them, then they can go back. Not a big deal. If its the ladder, I'll just go with the Razor 4k with GB and get a new binocular.
Oh I agree. I was just giving a heads up. Some people think if it has a V on the side and doesn’t say razor than it belongs in the trash lol
Some people are rich rich and some really don't like vortex. Personally I have no issues with them as my niece and nephew's 6.5 prc have the viper scope on there's. Its actually pretty clear and not bad of a scope at all, shots and tracts well. A lot of people give vortex a bad name. I have used some Vortex stuff from others and not bad. And for lifetime unconditional warranty, I mean, how can you not like that. The few videos I seen of the Ranger binos were decent and seemed fairly clear. I went ahead and ordered them and some new pelican vault cases. Cabelas/Bass pro have a big hunting sale right now and the cases I believe are definitely worth the sale price. And i need a tsa case anyway for an upcoming hunt out west.
Yeah the rep said 9 months to a year and would be an upgrade. So I'm assuming they are finishing up field trails and getting feedback. Then eventually start production soon. So that may be out of my range. But it's alright. I'll figure something out.
The New Vortex RF binos coming out MIGHT just be the best on the market for glass, laser and ballistics. Time will tell soon.
For the price, performance, and lifetime warranty..... what more can you ask for honestly. I haven't used many Vortex items but the ones I have used are very comparable to what I use from other bigger named brands. And the more attractive piece is the warranty by far.
I will know next week when I test around the house. Have some fields and longer streets to scope out.
Fyi. Sigs warranty now mirrors Vortex’s.
Not the Rangers, they do not have a ballistic calculator built into them and have a weak laser at only 3000yd max. They will not be the ideal RF bino. I do not know the name of the new ones coming next year but they are the ones replacing the Furys AB.
3k yards is still a huge distance. If something is 3k or 5k yards or you can't even range, what's the point? Even 1k yards you still need to get closer. Distance kinds of seems irrelevant to me when its thay far. Yes they are coming out with a replacement, price point will be about the same or just a tad more. Im not waiting that long. 3k is more than enough ranging distance for me. Not sure why that's not ideal, but if it isn't for you, great.
I've never tried personally. But videos seem to be pretty comparable. But why spend 1/4 or double the price on items when you can get the same or better with Vortex?
