So i got to handle the Vortex Summit SS a while back and i think that is the tripod that i want. Today i was in a store and got a hands on of the high country from vortex.
I hated the clamp style legs and could never buy one like that. Twist lock is the only way to go IMHO. But i was looking at the ball head on the High Country and i noticed something i didn't on the summit. Even if you lock the clamp to the ball head the head still swivels 360deg's. Felt very smooth and efficient.
I dont remember the head on the summit doing the same thing. Would some summit users chime in and advise on if it works the same. Maybe its even the same head but i dont think so from pictures off there web site.
