These do not have near as much insulating effect as "normal" hunting/hiking/work boots. Both in terms of the material underfoot is way, WAY less compared to a thick multilayer foam sole and also the upper is mostly just a single layer of leather. They do have a "thermal" insole that looks to have a mylar layer to reflect IR as you would find in sleeping pads. I've put felted wool insoles in my other barefoot boots to good effect but it rarely gets cold where I'm at and I can't compare the two in cold weather performance yet. We haven't been below 35* yet this season and it was at least 75* today so I'm hardly one to listen to on the subject of cold weather...they're pretty good in the heat I can tell ya that.
For extended periods at *32 and under I would be looking at the Winter Tracker. They have but a nice bit of insulation on the upper, and waterproof membrane. Might get all sweatyfoot hiking around in them though. I haven't tested them in the field.
