Vivo forest tracker esc durability

My latest pair of ESCs have had the upper separate from the sole along the stitching (again). Alot of my hunting is in damp/wet conditions down here so I'm guessing it's just breaking down the leather and letting it tear.

Has anyone tried the Vivobarefoot Tracker Leather AT II as yet?

The sole looks a little worrying compared to the ESCs.

Ended up buying another set as wanted that ESC soles - didn't make it to the end of the drive way before they gave out.. f29c0bd2-2885-4399-a24d-1127095a6876.jpg

I recently bought a pair, and starting to feel a little uneasy. Seems like this is a known / common fail point.
I’ve seen a repair implemented by a legit boot cobbler, but how would it be handled while afield?
Especially concerning if it occurs during a weeklong backcountry hunt, carrying a pack or meat load.

I wouldn’t be too concerned. Yes some people have had that happen but it doesn’t seem to be the majority. Also as several of us have mentioned on this thread these boots work well when not laced tight. I wear mine really loose, no matter how steep and rocky the terrain. If I lost one of those lace loops and had to pack out meat it wouldn’t bother me at all. When I wore stiff boots I laced them pretty snug but for some reason these boots don’t need to be tight and are more comfortable that way.

For the price of those boots I'm surprised at some of things that go wrong with them. My tracker AT have been flawless, just wish they had a more aggressive sole like the ESC

Just got the ebay pair, look legit. Immediately scrapped the laces for stretch cord, nice they have the speed lacing up top!

One spot where an eyelet seems to be rubbing my ankle bone? Mostly eliminated with the stretch cord for laces, the tread seems legit!

If that eyelet is rubbing your ankle bone then they’re laced too tight! Happened to me too at first then I figured out they are better worn fairly loose.

They are not laced tight at all really but the stretch cord helped eliminate most of it, plus it is only on one foot however I had it laced.

I rarely even tighten the stretch cord on my magna forest!

Zero issues with the fleabay boots, probably 50 on and off trail miles combined chasing gobblers!

Planning to give the Magna FG a shot for spring bear. I'm not totally certain my feet/ankles are 100% ready for it, but they felt great on the last hike in them with some weight and my normal boots feel cramped and awful now. Going to take some Sheep Feet insoles with a 3/4 shank in case I have any issues and need to swap them in. Also got some waterproof socks and micro spikes to go with them.
If all goes well, a pair of Forest Esc will probably be next. If not, I may shell out for the Wandersteifel 2.0.
