Vivo forest tracker esc durability

Who has used the tracker textile at?

I ordered some winter 2s and the lace hooks are off my ankle bone compared to the forests. I have been pursuing new to me upland birds and the wet grass pushes through my magnas even with gaiters on. Not a big deal that day while moving, but they take a few days for the interior to dry out and I don't get excited about putting on wet boots.

I see the new version leather at deleted the waterproof liner, but the textile keeps it.

I am wondering about material resistance to pokey things, sole's ability to stay on since it isn't stitched, and actual water resistance of the textile version?

Decided to buy a pair of vivo magna forest esc. This was my first experience with a barefoot/zero drop shoe. Found them to be super comfortable and lightweight. I am a guy who has hiked in slides/sandals many times just because my feet get so hot and sweaty. Was pleasantly surprised with the breathability of these shoes as well.

Sizing note: I usually wear a 12 in everything. Had to size up to a 12.5 in these - even with the insoles taken out of the 12s.

Decided to get on the barefoot game this season after reading through this thread. Bought this pair of Magna ESCs mid-August and have been rocking them pretty much exclusively ever since. Have ~25 days of hard field use through September, including a few packouts, plus whatever daily wear in between. Been loving them so far. Have had to switch back to my Crispis a couple times due to the Magnas getting absolutely soaked, and there’s no comparison in terms of comfort (toe bang, hot spots, etc.).

Wanted to post a couple pictures of how they’re holding up so far for anyone who is interested. Honestly pretty happy with how they’re doing with overall wear on the leather and sole. My one complaint is how the stitching has started to pull in a couple places in the instep. I have some Aquaseal SR I plan to use to apply a “rand,” and will probably use it to seal up the stitching as well and see if that helps.

Planning to order some Tracker ESCs for later season hunts - any differences in fit between them and the Magnas? I’ve also seen a few people mention gaiters that work well with these - Kahtoola, APE Equipment, Kuiu Kutana - anything I’m missing in that regard?

I am also curious about the tracker textile because it has a waterproof membrane. Any users?

Also wondering about the leather AT since it has the rand. Water resistance and durability compared to forest esc?

Refreshed Vivo Magna Leather ESC’s just dropped on the website. They look great in the new color.

I got my all black winters delivered the day the new brown/black version launched. I was tempted to return and reorder, but felt dirty when I started the process. I wear my Magnas a ton and their only downfall is wet vegetation.

Due to the above vegetation comment, I think I will just order some textiles. Nobody replied toy ask about them a few weeks ago.

Do y'all have an alternative "boot tie" for these laces?

I'm not wearing gaiters around town the my laces are coming untied. Usually one foot each day.

Forest tracker ESC.

I use this method and never have a problem with them coming untied. In fact, this is pretty much the only way I tie my shoelaces on any shoes these days.

Interesting knot. My formerly a big climber wife has shown me that before, but forgot about it. I just do a standard double knot on my forest esc laces and they rarely come undone.

Ya the wet vegetation is what gets me with the forest esc. The other downside is that they don't seem to be as breathable as they once were, so my feet get wet from sweat now just like goretex lined boots. So I think I'll try the textile at when I need another pair
