Vivo forest tracker esc durability

Nah the upper looks a bit taller? There appears to be 4 points of double stitched leather patches/reinforced leather sewn in. The outer ankles, the uppers, the toes, and the back of the heel. These are common areas where cactus and cats claw brush tend to rub and stick into the regular version.

The regular Vivo forest trackers have been excellent so far here in AZ so we’ll see if these are an improvement or just heavier and hotter.
It sounds like those have an extra leather layer under the foot, like a leather insole. I experimented with that. Have not found it to be necessary because the only places I’ve gotten poked are through the upper leather where they doubled the leather over the toe and sides on the Desert version. As for the leather insole, I found that it resulted in my foot sliding around in the boot on steeper slopes, jamming my toes into the toe box. But I don’t lace mine tight at all. That means I’m also less likely to substantially benefit from the taller boot. I don’t really want more support in these.

If I had my way, I’d make two changes to the original Forest Tracker ESC. 1) Add the extra leather over the toes and sides like the Desert version, and 2) Make the tongue gusseted full-height to keep more stuff out of the boots. That’s it.

Well I pulled an eyelet/grommet/metal deal off the other day. Randomly found the inside piece on my workout room floor the next day.
Going to contact vivobarefoot as this is a relatively common problem according the internet.
(Disregard the glue stains. That’s my own doing)

This happened to me about 2 weeks ago. Was wondering how they handled it for you and what the turnaround time was like? I don’t want to send mine in and not have them for hunting season.

I could never get a response. I probably gave up early.
No I decided it was fine enough. I keep my laces relatively loose and I haven’t noticed any differences.

Well said!

I think mine come tomorrow or Wednesday. I'm slightly worried about that ankle ball lace hook; it looks like it is in the same spot as the other trackers and why I sent those back.
Pretty sure a few of us here would be happy to test them for you! :)

But in seriousness, let us know how they go.

These days, I'm personally not likely to need the Deserts ... anyone tried the Jungles? Keen to hear feedback on creek-crossing performance of those vs the regular Tracker ESCs.

Still looking for my perfect boot and have been wearing the African barefoots for almost a year, time to break down and see if the Vivos are it. They didn’t have any Forrests in my size, the CS lady said the Deserts and the new leather version should be equally water resistant. Leather version didn’t look like the lower was stitched on, so desert it is.

Quick Google search turned up a good discount.

@Ryan Avery and his best cop buddy made them look so good I had to try them.
