I'm spending the week camping south of Bozeman, and I was wondering about visiting the Mystery Ranch place there. I'm thinking about trying on in person a few packs I've been interested in. Do they have a store/showroom? Anyone been there? Is it worth visiting?

Yeah, they have a showroom with their bags for you to play around with. Every time I've been there they've been helpful, and they'll fit the pack to you. It's on the north east side of town by some oil tanks. It's not going to blow your mind. It's just a small entrance area with all of their Military, Backpacking, and Hunting packs lined up along the walls. They keep them stuffed to fill them up and show true size. They don't mind you playing around with them and taking all that stuff out. Nice people.

Make sure you stop by Bridger Brewing...Great pizza and beer! Have a blast in Big Sky country.

Slick pretty much nailed it for MR, great packs and people. I would go by Schnee's and check out Stone Glacier in person too if you're pack shopping, hit the one off main street downtown. Have a great trip.

And there's a great Italian place out on the west end of town that has awesome pizza and other dishes. There's another Schnee's show-room nearby also!

Where is the new SG showroom mmw?

If it means anything western, I'm dumping off a metcalf, load sling, nice frame, daypack lid, S & M sized waist belts, a flip top box and two waist belt pockets after the summer (need it for work). And going with an SG. Obviously go with what works for you, but like others have said it wouldn't hurt checking out SG while you're in town.

Just got my SG Krux frame, load shelf and dry bag Friday, be worth cheching out. This is a solid ultra lightweight pack!

Yep, I've been there a few times as well. It's a basic little place, but lets you get hands-on with their stuff. They've always been good to me in there.
