looking pretty hard at this scope. there's some pretty knowledgeable guys on here when it comes to optics, much more so than me. any experience with this scope? looking to put it on a factory tikka, but at some point moving it over to a rifle id like to build for longer ranges. is the 75 moa of elevation enough?

i have to add that arons picture is on the linked web page so i know i should just buy it for that reason alone but still, im looking for some feed back :)

I order an HS-LR 4-16X44 and an HST 4-16X44....they seem very comparable but have yet to shoot either one. I like the 24 MOA in one turn on the HS-LR but like the 1/4 MOA elevation adjustment of the HST even if it is 12 MOA in a turn. Optically when I took them out to look over some mountains they seem VERY similar. The HS-LR is on my 338 WM and the HST 4-16X44 well thats going on another project that is in the works.

1000 for targets with the ability to shoot 6-700 on game if need be. realistically most of my shots wont stretch past 500

More than likely, you wouldn't even need to touch a dial to hit at 500...so yes, you have more than enough elevation adjustment in that scope to shoot animals at 500.

I can't speak to the 1000yd target shooting, so someone else will have to weigh in there. My SWAG is that you would have enough there too...

The point of the dial are to be able to hold zero at long range. I can shoot 500 with the scope I have currently with hold over. Wanting to get away from that

I have that scope on my coyote rig (243) and a 4-16 PST on my 308. Not sure what caliber you're shooting, but the PST has enough elevation to get my 308 out to about 1000 with a 20moa base. Optic quality on both scopes is very good for the money. Can't go wront IMO.

Keep in mind the 75moa of elelvation is measured from the bottom. You'd have 37.5 moa of ups measured from a center zero.

LB,

Optically, the scope is the same design as the corresponding PST/HS scopes.

As mentioned, plenty of adjustment for 1000 yards if you mount on a 20 MOA base.

Between the two Scopes the HS-T has it over the HS LR when long range shooting is of concern, the HS LR has an 11 MOA at full 16X & this can be doubled to 22 MOA at 8X. The HS-T has a 30MOA at 16X & 60 MOA at 8X.

Exactly, I have a PST on a 300 WSM and with a 20 MOA base I can get 1250 yards easy.

Sounds like it's a pretty solid scope. Think I'll be picking one up. Thanks guys
