I am building my own house and it's on a slab. I plan to use vinyl plank flooring for the lower level. I have a couple spots where I need to level the concrete around some electrical outlets I preplanned in the floor. What product should I use to smooth out the concrete?
It might be a 2' square area.

Custom brand floor leveler. They have a quick set version and one that takes overnight to cure.

You mix it like a thin pancake batter and pour in in the effected area and it will self level.

Watch a few YouTube videos for a tutorial before you do it.

Yep what he said! Its called Level Quick Rs and its available at Home Depot. You need to put a bonding agent down 1st and let it dry. Then mix it thin and pour it on. Get a mixing paddle for your drill and make sure you put water in bottom of bucket 1st. That will help avoid dry unmixed portions at the bottom. It is self leveling but can be troweled some as well depending on how thin you make it. I just mixed up 400 lbs of this last week.

No need for a special cutter. Get a 12” rafter square and a good utility knife. Use the square as an edge guide and score it with the utility knife a few times and snap it off. I like to set up a piece of 3/4” plywood thats about 2ft x 4ft on some saw horses and use the edge of the plywood to snap it off. You will also need a non marring rubber mallet or deadblow hammer depending on brand of flooring you get and a pry tool for tapping in the butt joints. It looks like a double ended flat bar that you use to tap the ends together. You will also need spacers and you can buy some or make your own out of 1/4 plywood. Also make sure you install in before the doors are installed otherwise you will be spending a lot of time undercutting door jambs.
