I have cut the velcro off and replaced it with some cobra buckles with 1.5 inch webbing I purchased. The buckles are a strong plastic.
I took off the cobra buckles strap around the ankle to replace them. The best solution I could come up with to try then out before spending to much money, was the cinch straps they actually work pretty nice. I might have cut them a little short but they still function great. I do however have the original ankle straps but they do have velcro on them.
I'd sell for $115obo
I have around $150 in them with the buckles.
