I just got a GoPro 12 and took it on a youth turkey hunt this weekend, got some awesome videos and now need to edit them and tape them together and put some music to it. I’m a total newb with any of this. What is a very basic ***easy*** video editing software you recommend for GoPro videos?

Davinci Resolve is a premium video editing software and it's free. You can go as complicated or as simple as you want with it.

I have Resolve. I'd say it's probably more complicated than what you're looking for if you just want to trim clips and combine them together. If your PC still has Windows Movie Maker I'd give that a shot. Pretty easy drag and drop

iMovie isn't complicated but the GoPro player app you can get on a computer can also cut together basic videos. Very user friendly

This isn't "for" the GoPro, but generally I've had very good luck with DaVinci Resolve. There's a free version and paid, and you get an awful lot in either.

I feel like every video-editing app has a different UI and some are just more intuitive to certain people than others. You might want to take a few for a test drive and see what works best for your needs.

I am sure you long since figured out what you wanted to do but the gopro app is all you need for editing. It's kind of what you are paying for. It has all sorts of transitions and filters, etc and pretty user friendly once you play around with it
