This sucker is really starting to sing!
Went 1 grain over book max and no issues. Will drop down to 80.5g

You must have worked up to one grain over book max, it would have been poor loading form to start there. Which means you would have already tried 80.5 grains and it shot well. Otherwise you wouldn't be dropping back. Did I read that right?

Yes over a couple sessions. I started at 76 grains and worked up 1/2 grain at a time to 81.5

Capacity makes a big difference as well with respect to playing a little bit over the max. A magnum case that holds 80 grains versus a smaller case that holds 40 grains is a whole different ball game with respect to margins.
