Anyone have any field experience good or bad they would like to share about this spotter? I remember reading some good things about it for the price a few years back but cant' find much now. My son has some money burning a hole in is pocket for a lightweight decent spotter and it seems you can pick one up at a good price online ($350)

I think they are the best budget scope out there. Ive had one for years and never once regretted buying it. At 45 power it gets pretty dark but is still usable. In the 15-25 range it is excellent. The focus is very easy to use and I like it better than any other scope I’ve used. I compared mine directly to a vortex viper and diamondback. It blew the diamondback out of the water and was as good or better than the viper but it was 300 dollars less. I actually have mine for sale as I upgraded to a meopta if you’re interested in saving some money on a used one.

I briefly had the endeavor HD 82 mm and did not like it at all. I passed it along to my FIL who liked it well enough but IMO there are much better for the price. It had a dim image, way too much chromatic aberration, and wasn't particularly sharp. I had at the time an Orion Grandview ED 65mm (which I think was discontinued but is still sold by SVBONY under a different name) which outclassed the Vanguard in just about every way.
