I've got a Vanguard tripod that I purchased a number of years back, and it hasn't seen much use in recent years. I replaced the stock head with a PH-113 after a couple seasons, which works great even with a heavy tripod or rifle. I have four (that's right FOUR) plates to go with it.
I did cut down the center post by a few inches so I kick the legs out another setting without raising the post up to clear the ground. And it's got the usual scratches and dings from a piece of aluminum that's seen a lot of backcountry use, but all leg locks, adjustments, etc. work perfectly. Also no longer has the foam "sleeves" that came on the legs. Happy to send additional photos via text.
Long story short, this has been sitting on the extra gear shelf for a while and I figured someone might be able to put it to better use. $70 F&F shipped.
