What vanes for western hunting. Shooting either mechanical or smaller fixed broadheads. Thinking either the Dca super Sabre or tac 2.25 or the arc hp

I’ve really been liking the super sabres and the minis. Ran minis on my 3d arrows I’ve been shooting all spring and I’m going to run the supers on both my hunting setups.

Honestly, I had hell with the drivers and getting them fletched. Don’t know anything about the DCAs. When the AAE AirRZRs came out, tried them and will likely keep shooting them for the foreseeable future. Super stiff and easy to get to stick to an arrow. Don’t think I’ve seen a single fletching come off the arrow to this point (2 years of shooting) using the AAE maxbond. Have only used the 26 but I hear the 23 4-fletched or even 5-fletched is a hell of a combo. Just to add to your analysis paralysis!

Out of the 3 listed, the 2.25s. The easy button is the AAE max stealth. However, the DCA minis will do everything you want. The Super Saber is great but very big and clearance could be an issue. The new Alpha vanes are worth a look too.

Another vote for the mini sabre very quiet and durable. I run a 4 fletch and position the fletchings correctly and you can almost run your sight all the way down to your arrow shaft allowing for great clearance and allows you to shoot out to 120+ with a slider. Groups my g5 megameats and slicktrick magnums great beyond 80 yards.

I have been shooting the DCA Super Sabres for a few years and I love them. They steer my Iron Will broadheads perfectly. I run them in a 3 Fletch. I have no reason to switch Vanes yet. I'd like to try to Minis for 3d arrows. I would bet they would fly great with a mechanical.

I voted Super Sabres. But, I've been testing a bunch of AAE vanes and Super and Mini sabres this year. I'm sticking with the Mini Sabres, 3 degrees helical (OMP jig).

I've tested the Mini Sabres with VPA 3 blade, QAD Exodus, Montec, Iron Will SLR, Single Bevel Wide Vented and a couple mechanicals so far. Works well for all of them. Testing ranges have been 20-60 thus far and then arrow flight test to 80 (haven't done group tests at 80 yet). The Super Sabres are too high profile for my liking and touch my face at full draw.
