Uukha ILF limbs heavier draw weights

So I think the Gobi, Selengas, Altais have been discontinued for a new hunting line. That may be why the selection is low. I was talking with the RMS guys over the weekend about it. Give them a call. I bet they can help you out.

Go to alt services[ alternative sporting services] UK or EU they are probably the most competitive in pricing anywhere. But do not sell Nika archery in China short they are easily the equal of uukha, I have both brands.
At the end of the day it is not equipment that makes the archer and their is plenty of limbs on the market that are within 10% of uukha and cost a quarter of the price. Dont go throwing your money away on b/s.

Besides the Alternative Archery route the best prices I have seen on risers n limbs is Johns custom archery, ringbold Virginia .... Super fast delivery n " no " I'm not there buddy or have loot invested or a horse in there stable . Just facts once again no b/s . BTW if someone not shooting there bow of choice they just might be " HENPECKED" and not even know it . 🤫

He has an email, [email protected]. He also sells on tradtalk quit a bit. I 2nd the Nika n3s. I’ve had a most of the uukhas except the newest ones. The n3’s are similar in feel to the older ex1evo2’s from uukha but faster. I haven’t had them try to take my head off like the Selena’s either. I’ve only had them up to 54lbs( 42# longs on 19” p2p @ 31” draw, 2 turns out). They have 50lb mediums on a 25” riser. I’d bet you get 56-57lbs+ @ 28” on a satori. More, bolts down. I know Ryan Rothaar shot Nikas at 61lb in Africa, but I don’t recall his dl for sure but I think 28.

Keep in mind, Uukha's shoot like a limb 10 pounds heavier (as a very general rule). Also, the pound rating for Uukha's is given in the middle of their range, not the maximum, if I remember correctly. So, a 50 pound rated limb would actually be a 52-54 pound limb depending on riser. Put that limb on a 17" riser instead of a 19, and you have a 54-56 pound set-up that hits like most recurve limbs in the 65 pound range.

Are they noisy?
I got some 40# long Uukha limbs on the 19" Satori for my son. I just got finished making a string and putting on silencers etc and it has a noticeable after shot resonance. Looks like mainly the limb tips vibrating.

If you pluck the string you hear it twang for a second or so.
Do that with my Border and you get a thud and nothing else.

No, Uukhas are bizarrely quiet for how high performance they are. You likely need to increase your brace height. 8"+, maybe even up to 8.5".

They're not Uukhas but Lancaster Archery has the Hoyt Satori limbs available from 35 to 65 lbs. in multiple lengths and colors for $499.

My uukha irbis linbs with a 575gr arrow are VERY quiet.

I haven't tuned the selenga's yet.

Bumping this.

I was at a clinic last weekend with Tom Clum again down in Victoria, and a bloke there had a 21in Satori riser with 45# Mazaalai limbs. I know it's not a super heavy bow like you might be after, but holy crap it shot nicely. I might try and get it off him for a deer/goat bow around home.

I may be chasing buff this year so besides my 78# compound, I'm considering what sort of trad bow I might take or build to go up there.

My Uukha's have a little bit better arrow performance...and a little better feel over the other ILF limbs. The Nika's are close to the Uukhas. I have a set of Borders which have noticeably better performance over the the Uukhas. I've tried to like the Borders, but no.

One argument for the higher performance limbs is that you don't need higher poundage.
________

My buddy took a 56# Black Widow on our Water buff hunt with 560g arrows and Zwickey BH's. The bow was over 60# at my DL. I shot one of the dead buff broadside at 15y with his setup and it only got 8" of penetration which didn't make it into the chest cavity. The BH may have curled on the ribs- I don't think those Zwicky's are tempered steel. ( I know another guy that had that curling happen with an 80# compound plus a couple guys whose Ashby BH's snapped in half) Then he shot a live buff as it trotted by us quartering away and only got a little better penetration.

The rest of us used 80# compounds and mid 800g arrows with tempered steel 2 blades. Both my self and a couple of other buddies got complete pass throughs with that setup.

My take; If I was hunting Water buff with a trad bow, the bow would be over 65# and a 900g plus arrow....probably 1,000g. The arrow needs to have perfect flight too...which would be difficult to accomplish in a recurve with those uber heavy arrows.
