While I'm pretty disappointed my team lost, I think it's a good thing for the rivalry between us. If we played that game 10 times the same way, Canada wins at least 8 times.

... in the last year, they have played 3 times...USA is 2-1. Canada would not win the next 7 in a row. But you can dream, meanwhile we will just enjoy our world champ title for the next 4 years

Absolutely enjoy it. But I think you missed my point. Canada did outplay the USA in that game, you guys just got the bounces. If we played that exact game 10 times, I don’t think Hellebuyck makes that save on Devon Towes very often, or even more than once and I don’t think MacKinnon misses the wide open net more than one out of 10 times.

Most of that game was dominated by the Canadians. It’s hard to criticize their effort.

And maybe the linesmen don’t miss the 8 guys on the ice playing the puck and we get one more chance on the power play

Great game and the American’s won no doubt but in a 7 game series with playoff style ot we lose everytime imo.

Hellebuyck played one of the best games for a goaltender in the modern era and with the best players in the world on the ice 3v3 anything can happen.

Im proud those boys made it happen but every single one of them knows that it was a miracle.

Remind me how you guys did in the 2 games prior to USA? ...Oh thats right, you went to OT vs the Czechs, and you got a BS powerplay call in the final 2 minutes vs Finland after trailing the entire game, to get the game winner. . No matter how GREAT your team was on paper skill wise, they lost, and didnt show up as the powerhouse team they were supposed to be the entire tournament. Yes, you guys had the ice tilted in the 2nd/3rd...but you also didnt score on a nearly 2 minute long 5 on 3. The best part of winning so far, is seeing the Canucks making every excuse possible why they should have won but didnt. Your team moved out of olympic village into 5 star hotels, USA stayed together and did everything as a team. USA played far better hockey in the games prior the the gold medal, whereas your team didnt hold a lead in both elimination games until the very end. . .On paper Canada was supposed to be the best team ever assembled on ice, and on paper it is. But they sure didnt show that when it came time on the ice, and thats the only place it matters

Hockey players are generally regarded as intelligent. With division 1 NCAA becoming increasingly THE path to the NHL, and a really high graduation rate, I think it would be false to say they're not known for intelligence.

Cleary spoken from somebody with zero experience. Not saying us hockey guys aren't intelligence but it's not hard to have a high graduation right when the class schedule is full of light electives like bowling, golf, pickleball, fly fishing, intro into personal finance, career planning, study skills, ect.......

A bunch isnt 3 its only 2 more and in that same time frame say since 1950 the last one Canada won before 2002 both America and Canada had won three now. So i dont know about a bunch. This is fun smack talk

You do realize these teams have played each other 3 times in the last two years and the US is 2-1, with one regulation and one OT win compared to CAN 1-2 with their only win being in OT? When does CAN take accountability that this team on paper and on the ice isn’t translating?

Yes, the US was outplayed in 2 of the 4 periods, or 40 of the 61:40. At the end of the game it was the effort and fight from the USA that won it, or lack there of it from the Canadians.

Your team had a 5-on-3 PP for 1:30 along with another PP late in the game, typical referees to the rescue for Canada, and still didn’t score. Why is it that Canada has a reputation around the world of getting help from the refs?

And put a guy half his age in a headlock and pummeled his face. Stayed in that game too. Lol
