US OG buy again?

Do they absorb water? If so, does that affect zero?
I hunted with mine on in the rain and snow. I wouldn't say it was fully "wet out" but it didn't cause any misses on 10 big game kills over the last 3 weeks.

Good question though and would be worth testing I suppose.

They turn into a sponge. Not sure exactly how much weight it adds, but it did seem like it was noticeable. Could have been my imagination though. I didn’t see anything worth shooting at when it was wet.

I doubt it adds enough to affect the zero.

Can anyone comment on how many shots in you start to see mirage in the OG or OG 6.5?

6CM/22CM w a bare can 5 shots or less w OG or AB 6 With a cover I can sneak in maybe 10 pretty quick, but the last 2-3 shots are showing a good bit of mirage (barrel vs suppressor I don’t know)

How do the the AB6 and OG compare in sound?
My raptor 4 with a 3” reflex and 30 cal endcap sound identical to the OG 30 on a 6.5 prc . When you put the 6.5 endcap on the raptor it sounds better than the OG .. so I would imagine the raptor 6 will sound a lot better .

Sounds like the OG is on par for sound based on size. Anybody compared OG 6.5 to a Raptor?

Who has a US OG that likes it enough that they’d buy it again? I have a 20” 6.5 creed that I have a DD LTI on but would like to try some shorter.
No, I would not buy the OG again. It is LOUD, compared to most cans. I have the OG65 on the way, hopefully it's better. Seems like a great company that I'd like to support, but they missed the mark with the OG..

If you read back on these threads many people said, including me, the primary concern with a suppressor has to be sound suppression.

All the other stuff with the OG looks great. But you have to get the sound part right.

Maybe a 5” in front of muzzle and 3” reflex would have offered more suppression with still a handy, small muzzle forward, and tough can.

Loud compared to other cans that add 4” to the overall barre length?

I am liking my OG65 so far. Light, sounds about like my ultra 7, shorter. I don’t regret buying it, even with a slew of other suppressors. That said the use case of it, for me, is fairly limited.

For my use case, on smaller cases, with steel barrels of appropriate diameter, it’s perfect.

Wonder why the OG and OG6.5 get different reviews? People are saying the OG is loud but slap a 6.5 front cap on it and it’s considered quiet?

The 6.5 OG is an entire stack, not just a cap.

I don’t know what differences are inside. I have zero desire to have an OG 30 cal just based on weight alone, I have plenty of other suppressors in the same realm. But the 6.5 hits a sweet spot of suppressor, length over the barrel, and sound.

And we all know the airlock is the best thing since sliced bread, but it’s only a few months old. I hope innovation continues to happen.

I won't buy another OG30 but to be fair I have way more 30 caliber cans than I do rifles over 6.5. With what I have I can't think of any reason to go above 6.5 in rifles or suppressors going forward. I was going to buy the OG6.5 but missed the sale(totally my fault) and decided to get the airlock. I was/am curious about both so went with the sale. I still want a OG6.5 but since it's a want not a need I'll just try to pay closer attention to the next time they run a special.

I would buy my OG again. I was on the early wave and would prefer a OG 6.5 but no complaints with my OG. I would say it sounds better after a few hundred rounds through it. I've ran it on an AR15 and 6.5 creed.
