US OG buy again?

-It was 100 rounds in 6 minutes I believe he said .
-Tone is a cope for “loud” In the OGs case
- unknown is also a brand new suppressor company
- the ZG will make a terrible paper weight since it’s so light . My OG on the other hand is currently a great paperweight

OG paperweight because something is wrong with yours? I believe they are only a few oz different

I have an OG 30 , it’s 11 ounces(almost double of the zg) and the loudest silencer I own . That’s why it’s a paperweight .

Interesting it’s your loudest can, the db tests (and Form’s test) shows it as one of the quieter cans

Edited below for correcting above statement

I only bring up airlock when people ask for silencer advice . This guy has one of the quietest silencers made , do you really think he’s gonna be happy going to the other end of the spectrum with an OG ?
First thats not true. OP asked if someone would buy another OG. You interjected the airlock just like every other suppressor thread. You think the airlock is one of the quitest suppressors made? Short & light sure, one of the quietest made? Nope

He said he would like to try something shorter , I suggested the direct competitor to the OG , which is a much better option … I never said the airlock was one of the quietest silencers ever made … I said his LTI is … have you even heard a zero g in person ?

Can anyone comment on how many shots in you start to see mirage in the OG or OG 6.5?

With an LS Wild cover, I have to give the OG or OG 6.5 a few minutes rest after about 20 shots (2-3 rpm) with .270 or .25-06. That’s about like my other suppressors.

It notice it starting to affect shooting “groups” at paper at 100 yards at around 8-12 back to back rounds with the LS Wild cover, depending on the cartridge.

I don’t notice it affecting hits on steel at range until closer to 15-30 shots back to back depending on the cartridge.

My experience with mirage is 15-25 rounds with the the LS Cover and the OG, TBeast, and DD Wolf Hunter. Depends on the amount of powder being burned. Like @mxgsfmdpx said, for steel it’s almost twice as many rounds before you see issues vs paper.

I have been running the OG 30, and It will go on my AR 300 BO SBR.

I will definitely buy an OG 6.5 can or two for my bolt rifles. Saving 4” overall length is something I have gotten used to with the OTB.

For the ounces, I see more benefits. I also shoot way too much to have a “limited use” can. Now, if I get a sheep tag, I would consider every ounce.

What has been your experience with the can without a cover? I currently shoot and hunt without covers on my cans (harvester 300 and raptor 8). I own covers but didn’t see much benefit. If I’m getting after it with the 223, I will start to notice I need to let the raptor 8 cool before I get a clear sight picture

A properly designed cover like the LS Wild units are a must for me. Shooting without leads to mirage much quicker and the cover adds a bit of an element of safety (not melting shooting mats, not burning a guy who may bump into it while it’s still cooling, etc).

Most covers are stupid, bulky, have straps to keep them in place that come loose, suck at mirage mitigation, etc.

While hunting, you don’t absolutely need a cover, but at about 0.7 ounces for the average size, the LS cover we make has no real penalty. It doesn’t affect zero as far as testing and reports from hundreds of users.

At the range, I couldn’t see going naked again. I didn’t like all the straps and buckles and weight of other covers. That led to the stupid simple design. Slide it on and it stays.

@TimberHunter If you don’t find a use for it, I get it. But, if you are curious l will send you a cover for testing to get your feedback from a guy who doesn’t use them.
