Upgrading tikka stock worth it for my hunting?

That makes sense @Q_Sertorius. I’m hard on the weight/weatherproof side for maintenance and practicality right now, so haven’t even thought about the other benefits of wood for a while.

There are no real downsides to a free-floated wooden stock unless you are soaking wet and have temperature fluctuations for extended time periods (months, not days). It might need a bit of buffing and some more oil or wax, but it’s not going to stop working.

A barrel chop to 18”, Tikka vertical grip, and Victor cheek riser are all things you can be done with quickly, meaning you still have time to shoot and get used to the modified setup before this coming hunting season arrives. Same with the kit linked earlier. You’d also only be spending $2-300, depending on local smiths for the cut/thread. You’ll still have plenty of ass for the distances you’re shooting and may change how you feel about your suppressor weight/overall balance.

If you’re considering a RokStok, you can forget about it for the 26 season, unless one pops up here and you’re faster than all the other buzzards waiting for that very thing (me included). I don’t know about Manners. The KRG Bravo is nice to shoot, not amazing to carry around (though lots of folks don’t mind it). I have one for a T3x I’m probably going to sell.
