I currently have the Prolite 3 and have been using it for a number of years. Problem is pressure points, causing a lot of tossing and turning and basically not a good nights sleep. I backpack so weight is of importance. Also mainly do September hunts at higher elevation, 10k+. Looking for recommendations for a light weight yet comfortable pad from tried and true users, not salesmen. Thanks.

We can all jump in and recommend what it is that we use. Your best choice, head to your favorite outdoor store that carries 3 or 4 brands and lay on them all. I personally run EXPED mat's exclusively and can get away with the SynMat UL/HL models which are 7cm thick and great for 3 season temps. Others, and potentially you being at elevation might want the Winterlite model which gives you 2cm of extra thickness which also gives you a higher r-value for increased warmth when temperatures get to or below freezing.

If I could have one pad it would be a prolite ... I'd recommend adding a CCF underneath

I honestly think a pad with a higher R-value would be on my list as well.

Exped, X-therm, BA to name a few.

Thanks for the suggestions, and I will have to find a store that will let me lay them out and try them.

I love my Thermarest Neoair Xlite. I would recommend the long/wide. I prefer the extra room and it only weighs 16oz.

My $0.02 is that the airmatress type pads like the neoair and others have eclipsed the self inflators in nearly every way but durability. A new prolite is a pound and has one inch of cushion. A neoair is 12oz and 2.5 inches thick. Enter nights sleep and less weight. I pair mine with an ultra thin closed cell mat cut to 25x80inches that weighs 5oz and doubles as my sitting pad and camp cushion.

They are more delicate than my old self inflator and you need a patch kit and some repair tape to be safe.

Also, if you by one, make sure you get something with a little R value.
