I'm in, been wanting to put ball heads on our two BOG Deathgrip tripods and have been looking into DIY conversion.

Would like to convert my BOG tripod from the heavy saddle that still imparts wiggle, to the ball head conversion to run arca plate on any of my rifles, for a secure & quick change option that also provides smooth pan & tilt operation. I added a MLok slot to my Seekins precision Havak rifle stock just to be able to add an arca plate to run off a ball head on a tripod for western hunting. Or to run my 17 HMR or 223 Wylde for predator hunting both already setup with arca.

The head on my hand-me-down BOG not having cant didn't seem like a big deal with range practice. Once we were on a hillside and moving often, I found myself fiddling with the feet or considering loosening the grip to manually cant - which then leaves me with a system that's no longer locked together. Would mostly be interested in running this via direct ARCA mount as I'm not a big fan of the saddle clamp.

Great idea - was planning to DIY this mod soon. My son has taken two oryx so far using my Deathgrip, but being able to properly use the XLR chassis would be amazing!
