I currently have the diamondback HP 4-16x42. I was looking at the Leopold VX-3i or the Viper HST (in comparable specs). Diamondback seems to have decent glass, and clarity, and I’m wondering if I will truly notice a difference with either the other two, and which of the other to get the edge. I’m thinking that the Leopold might have the edge, because it’s lighter. Would Love input from anyone who shot the diamond back, and the other two, and if it really is worth the upgrade. Looking at the options in the store just provides no real value :(

I'd take a Leupold over a Vortex any day.

There are a few Meoptas in your price range that I'd prefer to either.

I have both the diamondback and leupold vx3i. The leupold is noticeably brighter

I had a diamondback. Even the VX1 leupolds I have are noticably brighter than the vortex at first and last light. Was not for me, likely won't buy another vortex product again because of it. It was a $300 scope that didn't perform at a $100 level.

I own a VX-3i and I can say it is an amazing scope (especially for the price). It is very clear, bright, and lightweight. I can't speak for any of the other ones or how they compare. All I can say is you will be happy with the Leupold (y)
