Unknown tier 1 Tikka build vs Seekins PH3

The tier 1 deal isn't a terrible price for eliminating the hassle of coordinating the additional purchases/smithing but I'd have a hard time doing it when you can get stainless vs carbon steel and still be cheaper. Id look for what LS Wild has coming as an alternative.

Pretty easy to chop/thread a stainless tikka and slap it in a rokstok though.

I was in this exact scenario/predicament and ultimately chose the ph3 in 6 creed.

Maybe the ph3 was the easier button, maybe the cheaper button, will eventually get a UM tikka but, for me, the ph3 was just a better value….or for what I value anyways.

I am waiting on a 6CM ph3 - will be my first seekins rifle. The main factor in buying it is the availability in 6CM. I would buy a tikka with the new threaded muzzles/short barrel from the factory if you are looking at any other cartridge. I just got a threaded 20" 8 twist .243 and have a 16" .223 threaded on the way. Both basic black and blued rifles with endless upgrade options down the road- lots of freedom in that.

To get a 6CM tikka from UM would be a tier2 rifle unless I am missing something.

I understand the lack of love here for the Seekins as it isn't Rokslide Approved™ (aka under the S2H marketing umbrella). But their bolt rifles absolutely hammer, and their service is nothing short of amazing. I would take a PH3 over a Tikka at the same price any and every day. I have both and compete with both, a PH2 and a fully customized T3x.

I don't like saying that just because things are used in competitions they must be the best, but if you look at NRLH matches I bet every single match this year will have 1 and likely 2 or 3 Seekins on the podium for the factory class. They work, and they work in harsh conditions.
Seekins is a great gun. I think the ph3 is dumb but I have shot 2 6creed ph2s and a 7 prc. All great rifles. Price tag is steep in my opinion for what you get. Compared to a tikka rebuilt with a stockyd for 350 on sale and a prefit you are less than a ph3 by a bit. Unless you want a 300 wm which Scheels seems to be dropping price heavy. ( if someone buys one I know of a couple barrels you might want to swap to)

Tikka, shoot the barrel out and then worry about customizing. Lots of cheap stock options or just a vertical grip and cheek riser on and send it

I’d get this if I could do it again. I have this rifle in the 24” version and am building a 6 creed off a tikka in 308 win I have. There is a recoil reduction going from a 6.5 creed to a 6 creed. But both feel like pellet rifles compared to the rifles I shot all my life. Also, yes there is an advantage balistically with a 6 creed starting out a couple hundred feet per second faster. But, unless you are a dedicated shooter, I think people ask for a longer range gun than they need. Not too long ago I thought 400 yards was too far for me to shoot and I would have passed.

That thing is what I would have killed for a few years ago, tikka was just slow on the draw, if I didn’t already have 10 hunting rifles in the stable I would be all over it! (3 are in 6.5cm)

I too am considering a 6 CM Tikka. If you are looking for the easy button, this may be an option. OMR has definitely had mixed reviews on this forum, and that is the main thing holding me back from going this route. I’ve seen some have loved their more recent purchases though and the price seems reasonable.

I went with fast twist 22-250 T3X. Gonna load 75gr ELDM and some 77gr TMK and see what she likes.
