I am running them about 35 thousandths off the lands. ~2.90 COAL and 2.27 BTO. 41.5gr of h4350 gets me 2880-2900 out of my 18" PVA.
Thats a fantastic rig!I took four Aoudad in the last few days with the OG. I had another hunter cross canyon who reported hearing the impacts louder than the report of the rifle. He said the rifle was “different” sounding than what he was used to.
No ringing ears or anything negative on my end over 6 animals taken since receiving the can in June. Love the balance and length of the OG. Looking forward to the triple 6.

I really wanna see the OG6.5 vs the Airlock 6.
I do prefer a smaller diameter suppressor if at all possible, only because I run low rings.
But obviously weight and sound suppression will impact too.

Same, the airlock seems awesome but I like the look of the reflex on a 16 inch gun.I really wanna see the OG6.5 vs the Airlock 6.

What a world to live in with all these new and good choices.
Once the gAyTF approves the Form-3 (dealer to dealer transfer) is usually when they send out an email letting you know it's shipping to your local shop to go submit your Form-4 (dealer to individual) for final approval. Thanks for the info- I am not familiar with how the process works
Sorry but that’s not a “tone” thing… That’s a suppressor thing. This video shows why tones matter. Coyote and deer US OG on a Tikka 22-250 24" barrel, 52 grain bergers.
Absolutely incorrect. Of the dozen plus suppressors i have and used extensively only 3 get that result, only one is actually light enough to backcountry hunt with. The DA sandman L actually does a better job but weighs more than a rifle. This data is compelled of 600-1000 animals a year for the last decade or so.Sorry but that’s not a “tone” thing… That’s a suppressor thing.
Ok.. No desire to derail this thread with a pissing match over data and credibility. I continue to disagree but props on a cool video nonetheless.Absolutely incorrect. @Formidilosus or @Unknown Suppressors - apologies if I missed it, and I've tried to find it using the search, but what was the baseline db for your testing (20-inch .308 firing M118 ammunition) without a suppressor?
I can't get your cans here (unless you can sort out some kind of export arrangement!) so just trying to work out how local cans stack up.
Cheers!
Thanks. That would be helpful!Haven’t measured it. But I can.
But your cans are good. Remember the OG wasn’t optimized for max suppression as the first goal.
Thanks. That would be helpful!
Got it about max suppression ... and I'll only know about tone if I buy a range of cans and try them myself.
There's just one titanium maker here, but they don't offer an overbarrel option - and their main hunting can has a very loud crack (and only about 24dB reduction). Their other option uses a muzzle break host, but I've had one that wasn't centered properly and destroyed a can (they made good on it), and another that shore off the locking lugs.
There are pretty much only two overbarrel options here - one uses simple baffle stacks that aren't in a sleeve / have exposed joins, which I'm leery about. Also had one and wasn't overly impressed by the performance.
The other main maker talks up a storm about their stuff (I think we had a conversation here about their action some time back), but on the phone once told me that titanium wouldn't weigh less than their aluminium, and that their aluminium would last as long as iconel ...
Anyway, knowing your baseline will help me then get a sense of the US line's sound reduction and do some desktop comparisons before real-world ones ...
