Unknown suppressors OG testing

Everyones ears are different and each shooting day/location are different. My buddy and I both shot mule deer over the last week in steep, broken, mountain terrain and were blown away by how quiet the OG was. My buddies buck dropped at the shot and he turned out of the gun and said "That was crazy quiet. It sounded like a 22." After his shot the 4 does and other buck went back to feeding and stayed on the hillside until we bumped them out while recovering his buck. He was shooting it on a 21" 6.5PRC and mine on a 16" 22CM. It makes me want to grab the OG6.5.
Do you own other cans? I am underwhelmed with my OG. The concept sold me, the lack of suppression compared to my other cans, makes me have buyer's remorse. I ordered up an OG 6.5 to see if it's any better. Based on their reports, it should be what I am looking for.

I have an ultra 7 and 5, scythe, wolf hunter, and a couple 22 cans. In my original assessment I wrote it’s not the quietest suppressor and if you buy it thinking so you’ll be disappointed. What I have found in shooting and hunting with suppressors is that each scenario and shooting background matters. On this hunt both shots were from a ridge top shooting down canyon (one at 252y and the other at 600+) in an open burn. Both my hunting partner and I were crazy impressed. It’s just our observation and you can take it for what it is.

Before my hunt I was finalizing a load in a big rush. My last 3 shots were at varying targets from 357-678 yards and I had to move positions to acquire each target. In my hurry I forgot to put my ear pro on. The last shot was tight to a heavily wooded tree line and that was the first and only shot that was loud to me. I’ve had this happen with my ultra 7 while hunting without ear pro as well.

Was a a little bummed when the OG6.5 came out right after I got my OG, definitely. Only because I didn’t need another 30 cal can and the extra weight savings would have been nice. If it truly is quieter that is an added bonus.

Hope all that helps.

I've yet to use mine on a hunt. I should get a chance here in 3 weeks in Montana. I have only shot mine on a 22cm while practicing in wide open country. I agree that thearea you are shooting, absolutely matters on perceived noise.

Most do the “snap”. Tighten, loosen, tighten, loosen, SNAP it tight.

I hold the rifle at the pistol grip between my knees so the gun can’t rotate, grab the suppressor with both hands, and get ‘er good and tight. Gives me enough torque that I feel like I can strip the threads or snap the stock. Although that may not be true. So I’m not giving it everything I got.

In any event, I’ve never once had one loosen. And I still to this day check neurotically. Over 3k rounds, three different suppressors.
