I’m lucky that my SOT doesn’t charge anything.

My transfer was $130 and two trips to the store so the decision was impractical, but I picked one up because I'm curious and wanted to interact with it...and I trust Form implicitly.I would have impulse bought one the first week the OG came out if my local FFL/SOT didn't charge $100 for the transfer and then charge another fee to put it into the silencershop kiosk so I can use that trust/fingerprint/tax stamp system. US's $100-off discount almost made it equal money, but I've thought about it and I really need to spend my discretionary money on other things the rest of this fall going into hunting season. I still have to talk myself out of it on about a weekly basis.
This 180 is very impressive.I’m just going to say that after shooting the OG alongside the AB Raptor 8 w/ 3” reflex and the Scythe Ti, that while I am very happy with the AB Raptor 8, I really love the OG. It’s not as quiet as the longer, heavier AB, but it is definitely quiet enough.
I’ve fired 40 rounds through it with my Mauser 98 .270 w/ 21” barrel and I just like it more every time I pull the trigger. I regret and take back every ignorant thought and negative comment I ever had about it. It’s the best hunting can on the market, in my opinion.
I am going to have to get another one for my .25-06, because it’s never coming off this rifle.

I second the importance of tape on the end of the muzzle that’s why I went with the simple man suppressorI received one of the prototype suppressors to test out and give my feedback on. Figured I’d make a thread and post updates as I go.
I’ll primarily be using this on creedmoor based cartridges but will get some 6.5 prc through it as well.
My first impressions are very positive. I compared it to 3 other cans and plan on running it next to more as I go. It’s appreciably quieter than the other cans I had out. They were a JK Armament 155 configured to the same past the barrel length, PWS BDE556 in its longest configuration and a AB suppressors A10 30 cal.
I’ll try and get it next to a friends AB Raptor 8 because I think that would be a very good comparison. That can was my previous favorite for tone and suppression and I think this one will be as good in a shorter overall package.
I also really liked how the end cap didn’t have some silly design that made it impossible to get tape to seal over the hole.

It was your original account of the OG making your ears ring while the scythe did not that got me off the temptation train. All the hoopla about shooting suppressed without ear pro was just mud in the water that distracted from the volume difference between the two cans being significant enough to cross the hearing damage threshold.
I appreciate a guy changing his mind publicly. That's a better endorsement than just about anything else. Now I'm back to being tempted, so thanks a lot.![]()
The OG will become more popular over time; it just needs some education and word of mouth to gain momentum. I was reading another forum where people mocked us for saying that tone matters. However, we just need to be patient—eventually, people will hear it, and they will start to buy it. The OG will be the only suppressor I use for hunting.Oh…be tempted. I have about 350ish rounds on mine now, been shooting handguns & PCCs so haven’t been out with it much. But I will. The suppressors we tested against at my range were all huge max suppression stuff, not really comparable to hunting cans. And I was new to the OG. Now that I’ve had it out three times at the range next to…well, whatever cans the other guys have (mix of PRS & hunters)…I now hear the tone thing. Couple guys have remarked on it now after talking about it with them.
It’s short, it’s quiet enough (and better than 5” cans on a short barrel), it’s awesome. I knew I was gonna buy one back in the first part of the year when I heard about it.
Form was right. He shoots a ton, he gets there quicker & hasn’t steered me wrong with any of the much appreciated advice he’s given. I don’t regret the purchase, multiple trips to SOT, or the crazy fees. Wouldn’t take the Reaper over the OG.
