Unknown suppressors OG testing

So what's everyone using for minimum barrel contour to fit in the 1.55 OG while still maintaining 0.710 muzzle shoulder for 5/8x24 threads? I just measured an ace #2 and at 19.5" it's right at 0.700", my smith advised no less than 0.710, whereas TBAC says 0.725, I'd like to try an OG but all my short barrel rifles are too heavy a contour. So looks like I'll be dropping $800 on a new pipe.
If I remember right, mine was in between .700 and .71” at 16”, I wanted 18” but it was too thin and my smith gave it the no-go. He was comfortable with it at .705 ish on my 6.5 creed

Turns out I did have my calipers in the truck! Manual dial so my thousandths digit might be off a hair.

Ace SP3 contour 22” 6CM

Barrel end = 0.720”
Barrel at back of OG = 0.760”
OG rear inner dia = 0.850”

So in a short barrel (14-16") creedmoor is the og "enough"?
I realize it's purpose built im just not sure where it would start getting uncomfortable.
Or at that point are you better getting a bit more in front of muzzle at the sacrifice of a little more length?
I certainly think the OG is enough on a 14" 22 creed. @mxgsfmdpx and I both liked the sound of it.

Can anyone comment on how different barrel lengths impacted perceived loudness or decimal level on the OG or OG-L? There is published data on the website based on a 20” barrels but curious how that changes with shorter length.

The ultra 5 was my compact hunting can solution until I started cutting my barrels down to 16” and 18”.

@zrodwyo I can’t comment on the different barrel lengths much yet, but I have a ultra 5 and the OG is better to my ear in every way possible. The ultra 5 makes my left ear ring with any of my rifles that are bigger than a 223 and the OG does not.

Shorter barrels have higher residual pressure and that makes them louder. Never found data showing how much. I expect it’s not a lot, but depends on the volume of the suppressor. Smaller ones will get louder quicker.

@Unknown Suppressors

Question regarding the OG design. You answered my question regarding the Reaper in the reaper thread.

Will the OG design get an update the ability to add a directional brake to the end of it?

My reasoning might be a bit use case but i think that there will be customer base for it. I shoot a 7 prc with SiCo harvester. Suppression is good and the brake assist with recoil, but the can is 8" hanging off the 22" barrel. The radial brake also makes shooting prone a bitch because it kicks up dirt. The length makes it skeet shooting shotgun barrel length. Having 4" suppressor +1" brake would actually make it a good bit more manageable.

Looks like they tested one can on a 20" and 24" .308 at the TBAC summit last year. Assuming it's the same 762 model, the longer barrel appears to have been a hair louder.
0.26 dB is well within the margin of error even without factoring in temperature and humidity differences between samples.

Like ballistics, small groups do not provide enough info on which to make decisions. 1/4 dB decisions would require hundreds of samples and plenty of data scrubbing.

I was switching my ultra 5 between an 16&18” 22creeds during a range session. Running the same ammo and chambers. Hard to guess by how much but the 16” was noticeably louder. Depends on cartridge also a 308win may not have as much difference cutting 2” of barrel of compared to a 6 or 22creed. Glad to hear the good reviews on the OG and that it has a better tone to it.
