Unknown suppressors OG testing

@Unknown Suppressors how will the OG-L differ from the future OG magnum? Thanks!
OGL is essentially the OG 4”OTB 4” muzzle forward with a bigger OD and OTB hole for bigger barrel contours (up to 1”). It is a little quieter than the OG this is mainly because it has more volume inside of it. To be honest, we haven’t started working on the OGM yet and I’m not sure when we will be done with it. Its purpose is to offer the same desirable tone as the OG but have more volume to quiet down bigger cartridges. It will likely not be 4” and 4”, maybe more like 3” and 5” or 2” and 6” or 3” and 6”. Possibly have a bigger diameter than the OG. We have a handful of other cans we will be working on before we get started on the OGM!

What do you think the minimum threshold of "bigger cartridges" is? 300 magnums and up? 7PRC and up?

Are there brakes planned for the OGL? Thought I saw some being proto'd?

Again, we haven’t started working on it so I can’t say for sure what it’s going to end up being but. The plan is to optimize baffles/volume for cartridges like 300PRC/RUM and down!

You guys are costing me too much damn money!!

In all seriousness, I did mention previously that 3+5 with a 1.625" or 1.7" would probably be an amazing combo. I have faith you'll nail it and I'll likely end up with one. You might get an angry email from my wife, just ignore it 🤣

I could not tell any difference in muzzle jump or felt recoil between the OG and the Scythe Ti with the brake cap.

Sound difference? I Have both the og was louder than I expected tbh. ( ik it’s not quite can)

I have already posted extensively on the sound difference. Yes, the OG is louder than the Scythe, but it is still comfortably below OSHA’s hearing safe threshold and is superb performance for the length past the muzzle.

So, you advocate hunting with electronic hearing protection in your ears? Which ones in particular?

For me, “hearing protection” has always meant ear plugs or simple headphones. Neither of which are at all viable for still hunting in hardwood forests. If I was sitting on top of a mountain sniping at unsuspecting animals hundreds of yards away, then wearing ear plugs and/or headphones wouldn’t be an issue.

The decreased muzzle blast also makes a noticeable difference between firing unsuppressed and suppressed. It is far more pleasant shooting suppressed.

You should try the Axil electronic ear pro. They are impressive.

I went on an axis deer hunt in Hawaii a couple months back and bought these since I couldn't take my suppressor. I made a good, double lung shot on a doe from about a hundred yards, but she spun and went down below a little ridge, so we couldn't see where she went. She also wasn't bleeding much (tends to happen with axis deer) and there were other deer with her so we couldn't track her well. The brush is about 8-10' tall and impossible to see through, so we just fanned out and started searching for her...

I had my Axil ear pro still in and on maximum "ambient" volume when I heard what sounded like kicking in the brush nearby. I took my ear pro out and tried to listen to it for a few minutes but heard nothing. So, I put them back in and immediately heard the kicking again and was able to pinpoint exactly where the doe was about 20 yards away. When I got closer, I kept taking my ear pro in and out while she was kicking and it was remarkable how much better I could hear her with them in.

These will forever be in my range bag, especially when instructing newer shooters. I did not have high hope for them going in but got them 50% off so figured I'd try it.

keeping in alignment with the name of the first suppressor, I think the magnum can should be called the “BBC”…. Big Bore Can. Or Big Blast Can.

I’d love a reflex style 30 cal can that kills recoil and noise on my 18” 7PRC close to the TBAC 338 Ultra.
