Picked up a couple of new toys this evening. Things have come a long way since my last suppressor purchase in 2017.

7.41oz and 5.64oz.

I love the raw finish on the Unknown. I love the smaller overall form factor of the Airlock.

On my 18” Fieldcraft the OG6.5 adds a smidge under 4”. The ZG6.5 adds 1/4” more. Both result in a well balanced rifle under 42”. The weight difference isn’t noticeable.

I’ll try to shoot them tomorrow. Will try them on a 16” and 18” 6.5creedmoor. 16” and 20” 223. Me and the kids will be the sound meters.

Looking forward to your report. I had picked up the OG 30 cal but have not had a chance to shoot it. Then they came out with the 6.5 veraion... then airlock came on my radar! I have a feeling we are going to see more advancement in design/performance in this space in the next 2 years vs the last 10!

My landed cost (purchased in the RS group buy) for the Unknown OG6.5 was $753. It came in a branded cardboard tube with some stickers.

My landed cost for the Airlock ZG6.5 was $884. It came with a complimentary hat.

Silencerco Harvester and Omega for size and weight comparison. 11 and 14.6oz with their 5/8-24 steel adapters installed.

My first attempt at comparing the two was a fail, but it highlighted a difference that fellow idiots should consider. The over the barrel design introduces the opportunity to get adapters stuck up in there.* Before I thought better of it I screwed it onto a Tikka superlite with their M15x1-5/8-24 adapter installed which was NOT glued down. My mistake dawned on me the second I felt some resistance at the end. Oops. Sure enough the adapter stayed behind. I decided shooting it would likely make matters worse so just sat it aside and shot the Airlock (which was really nice).

A call to Unknown and now I have rokset curing, hoping it will hold the adaptor on and let me spin the OG65 off tomorrow. That's what he said they would try first.

I'll try again to compare them in a day or two.

*I know.

This is why the only adapters I have purchased are the UM ones. They are not as easy to tighten onto the barrel or get off the barrel because they don’t have a wrench flat, but they have that nifty tool to remove them from an OTB can using a socket wrench.

And the new Tikkas I just got from EuroOptic have 5/8-24 threads. No mucking around with adapters.

Good luck with the Roksett.

I did the same. I had not tightened it super tight and had not shot it. I wrapped plumbers tape around the barrel threads many times and twisted it back on.... it worked! Then I got the UM adapter so I would have e a better fix.

(Keep in mind, I never fired it with the plumbers tape on there and I do not advise. This was temporary as a way to "thicken" the threads and get the adaptor to want to be with the barrel vs the can!)

The only adapter UM offers is to 1/2-28. I have several rifles threaded 9/16-24 and this one that is M15. The 9/16 ones are getting the Precision Armament M4 adapter and rokset. This metric Tikka will likely have to be cut and re-threaded.

Good idea. I wish I'd tried that first.
