I have seen unit wide vouchers for sale, and was wondering how that works? Can you buy the voucher and not have to use any of your points? Also wondering how many land owner tags are usually for sale every year and if you are allowed to hunt public land with a land owner tag. Just really want to find a way to get back next year witout having any points.
THanks

In Colorado you buy the voucher and take it to a store to redeem it (you still need to purchase the tag). No points necessary.

The number of tags given out depends on the unit and whether or not you can use the tag on public depends on the specific tag designation that you buy...some are PLO (private land only) and others are good anywhere. Just make sure to clarify before you buy.

I have done it twice when unsuccessful in a draw.

Thanks. That's kind of what I got out of it. Another question I had was how someone could sell a voucher. Is it people that drew a tag and couldn't go? When do people usually put them for sale?
THanks again

vouchers are typically given to land owners as a form of compensation to pay for them maintaining suitable habitat for game. They than can use them for themselves or sell it. Some land owners may sell it early in anticipation of getting them but I would expect it would be after the draw / later in the year.
