Guys are just talking about a massive amount of turn ins from a “trophy” unit this year something like 30 tags have been turned in

That’s hard to believe unless the fire is on a private ranch that 30 guys had booked

I agree which is why I gave my hypothesis above. Good moisture up high has held the elk up there, rest of the unit was basically drought conditions, guys weren’t seeing elk, or thought antler growth would be Marginal, maybe some were older and didn’t realize what 76 would physically require if the elk were all high and pulled out

Anyone know much about the Quartz Ridge fire, is this in 76 or on the edge of it? Sounds like they aren’t fighting it and just going to let it burn since it’s so remote.
