Anybody used the under armor essential gore Tex rain gear? Right around $200 a piece top and bottom. Saw it at my local shop today and it looks pretty nice, very quiet exterior and seems well made. Thoughts?

My thing with UA is it's just too overpriced for what it is. If I found stuff from them at significant discounts I might try it, but paying retail for their stuff, you'll be disappointed. Remi Warren and Cam Hanes are sponsored by them. If you were being fully outfitted every season it would probably be nice. I did look at the Ridge Runner jacket and pants I think, the stuff that looks like wool. But I think that wanted 400 for the jacket and 200 for the pants....

I would agree with overpriced, I've got a way for a very good discount which is why I was wondering the quality of some of there items, the light weight ridge reaper had caught my eye actually.

I never had stitching issues with UA. I'm also a fan of their base 2.0 when found on sale unlike most UA base layers its an open weave not suffocating spandex.

It's hard to explain but when I hiked with guys wearing sitka and kuiu it just out performed UA.

The other reason I don't like UA is every year it's all new products, to me that says marketing not performance driven.

I have some of their older ridge reaper goretex bibs and rain jacket. It works great for when i'm hunting from a camp, not backpacking. Mainly due to the fact its heavier and no pit zips. Additionally I got it half price, because like another stated, they change their clothing line every year or two. Most of their stuff is well made, but in my opinion not worth paying full retail.

A little bit off topic but I got one of their hoodies in the ridge reaper snow camo just because it was cool looking but had to take it back because it had zero stretch in it. It fit great until I moved my arms then the sleeve cuffs came to my elbows. I've since tried the same hoodie in max1 and unfortunately it's the same. Don't know why I was expecting any different. Too bad cause they look pretty cool.
