I think the word “unconventional” is kind of relative to where you hunt and or live. Here’s a couple conventional rigs from up here, but maybe a little more unconventional some where else. Not all are my rigs, but all being used for their intended purposes (by Alaska standards).

That’s pretty sweet I had a friend who was working for Fish and Wildlife in the Yukon delta and he was telling me how the local guys run the rivers like we do roads

Good god am I the only one that this photo makes me uneasy . All i could see is that bungee rattling loose and a 1500 dollar rifle taking a nose dive to the ground lol

Agree. I would enjoy 0 seconds of that flight.

Ha, ha, there are many more important things to worry about when you’re flying around in a super cub, but if losing your rifle keeps your mind off losing your life, that’s probably not a bad thing.

Here’s another one that might look more complete/secure, but it’s probably not.

Scratching my head trying to figure out what those things started life as/what they are powered by? Some pretty cool stuff! You have one of them, and you are completely justified in referring to it as your hunting rig.

From what I've seen, and honestly, there's not a ton of info online, they're usually 1ton truck based. A one ton and some deuce and a half axles would be a good deal with the flotation tires.
