I actually drew the Alaska Caribou 827 hunt August 10 - 20 in GMU 20A. I’m incredibly excited! This will be my 1st caribou hunt, and another Huntress from our group is accompanying me! We are already in the planning stage. I’ve been told the Rex Trail is an access point via SxS on tracks. I’ve also been told to fly-in with a transporter that already has a base camp set up. We would really appreciate any leads, advice, things to avoid, etc you all might have on this draw tag. I’ve included a photo in our hunting clothes to confirm we actually HAVE hunting clothes. 😂 On our Perry Island black tail deer hunt and preparing to haul our bear bait to our stand.

I don't have that tag but I suspect caribou will be up high. In a similar unit they were way up in the alpine in August. Should be a nice hunt but be ready to move a lot.
Regarding trails, I can't give you specifics but my experience moving to Alaska was that an "easy" trail was quite hard for a bigger 4 wheeler rider. I would not commit to a long ATV ride for a special hunt unless you are pretty sure you won't be getting stuck/broken down.

TY. We both have ATV and SxS experience. I’m also great with the winch on my Polaris Ranger 6 seater…for obvious reasons. 😂 I’ve heard it is boggy up there, so a fly in might be the better option. So all pointers appreciated.
